SPECIAL SERVICES: The school offers several services to assist children who have special needs or concerns. The BASIC program (Better Attitudes and Skills in Children) serves grades K-3. This program provides educational, yet entertaining, activities to help students build self-esteem and learn decision-making skills. The BASIC coordinator goes into the classroom to direct activities centered on these concepts and may also see children individually or in small groups with written parental consent. The Life Skills program is offered to grades 3 and 4. Students may be referred by teachers, parents, or other interested persons for this small group of counseling that focuses on developing successful skills such as anger management, study skills, cooperation and other areas of a child’s life to help them grow through the years.
